The dishes were pretty...

Bread....yum.
First course was butternut squash soup (I think). I do not like squash or mushrooms, but this was very good. I even ate part of a mushroom.
The second course was salad, mixed greens topped with house vinaigrette, feta cheese, and persimmons. I ate everything but the persimmons. They were way too sweet.
This was the main course (for me)....turkey, gravy, stuffing, broccoli, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes and cranberries. I did not eat the sweet potatoes (bleah) partly because they were topped with pecans. That right there should tell you that I am not a true Texan, despite having lived there for ten years.
Mom does not like mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, etc.... (I KNOW.) so she had broiled salmon glazed with a honey miso glaze, on a bed of coconut rice and mixed vegetables. The presentation on hers was better than mine.
Of course, then comes dessert....what to choose, what to choose..... as if there's an option.

Thanks for lunch, mom.....Everything was excellent and the service was fabulous.

YUM!! I would have had total order envy with both of your meals. You are soooo not a southerner with your distaste for pe-cans and sweet potaters. But good to see you went for the chocolate.
Wow, that is SO fancy looking! How much fun was that? Very cool. That sounds like a fun time.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Looks absolutely wonderful. One year I'm going to try that eating out thing for Thanksgiving. Very smart, indeed!
Em (still stuck in Dallas - help me over the wall!!)
P.S. thanks for the SiTSa comment love for my Christmas story. Please come back any time!!
Looks good...much better than my presentation :) I have to agree on the sweet potatos with pecans... not for me either.
