God is a principal, right?

After school today we had a staff meeting to discuss the qualifications that are desired for the new principal that will be hired for our school. The staff was asked to submit descriptions of desired characteristics for this person, and it was interesting to note their desires. Apparently, according to the suggestion board, we want an omniscient, omnipresent, superhero who can both respect and control the student population and be firm and decisive without getting too involved in the teaching styles of the 60 odd people represented on our faculty. Oh, and they should also both have a lot of experience and be willing to try new things, but all without upsetting the balance of the way things currently are. It was also interesting to notice how it was easy to tell where a person's focus was. For example, the Indian Relations person wanted the principal to be familiar with the history of the school (named after a local native chief who attended high school there). The ELL people wanted him to be familiar with ELL issues. Same for the SPED people. The department heads wanted him to be able to set up schedules. It was kind of interesting. In other news, my cat threw up on my chair today. ARGH.

I love the BTW, my cat threw up tagged on to the description of the principal needed. If that isn't the story of my life right now!!
